Audition Alert   Auditions are open to everyone. Casting is done by the Casting Committee in conjunction with the Director. We ask that auditioners familiarize themselves with the script ahead of time if possible and know a little bit about the play and the characters. Contact us for more info.    THE GOOD DOCTOR by Neil Simon Directed by Paul Bettys Audition Dates Sunday, July 18 @ 6:00 PM Monday, July 19 @ 7:30 PM Callbacks Wednesday, July 21 @ 7:30PM Performance Dates Three Weekends September 18, 24, 25, October 1 & 2 @ 8pm Sunday Matinees - September 19 & 26 @ 2pm Auditions will be held at Dover Little Theatre, 69 Elliott Street, Dover Synopsis: Neil Simon adapted the stories of Anton Chekhov into exquisitely timed, often hilarious theatre, dramatizing stories which incorporate a wide variety of characters inclding a governess, a lady of the night, a blustering general, a wild woman, a roué flirting with a new bride, and an actress. The stories are filled with dry humor, surprise endings, and clever common people in confrontations with "superiors," ending in absurdities. "The Writer," obviously Chekhov, who himself was a "good doctor," acts as narrator and serves to connect the various scenes. There are roles for people of all ages and ALL parts are open, and even though roles have Russian names NO ACCENTS NECESSARY! There is a possibility of doubling up roles if necessary.
